Earlier this summer whilst fed up with pony weather and work, Simon Bulbeck and myself decided to jump on a flight to warmer climates and checkout the streets of Barcelona. Having grown up watching endless street edits filmed in and around Barcelona we thought we were setting off with a good understanding of what to expect, we were wrong. Barcelona took our childhood stereotype and force-fed itself steroids, everywhere we went we found new spots. In many cases the spots we remembered from various edits had taken an overdose of steroids. Although some of the fun stuff you see in edits is much bigger, trickier and scarier than first thought there is still plenty of fun stuff to ride.
My tip for anyone thinking about riding Barcelona would be to think about when you are going as we went in June and it was bordering on too hot to ride, no one likes sweaty grips.
